Benzyl alcohol is mainly used as an excipient in medicinal products that are administered intramuscularly, such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatory.

Antipsychotic medicines where its anaesthetic properties reduce pain at the injection site.

Benzyl alcohol is an aqueous soluble preservative widely used in injectable pharmaceutical preparations as well as in cosmetic products. Although toxic in neonates and infants, it is generally recognized as safe by the FDA at concentrations up to 5% in adults.

Benzyl alcohol  is an aromatic alcohol used as a solvent in the production of fragrances/perfumes, paints and adhesives. Benzyl Alcohol has been widely used in human medicine as an antimicrobial preservative and as a local anesthetic and antipruritic.
