Cetyl Alcohol is used in the cosmetic industry as an opacifier in Shampoo, or an emollient, emulsifier or thickening agent in the manufacture of skin cream and Lotions

 

It is a white crystalline solid that is derived from coconut oil and palm oil.

 

Cetyl Alcohol is a saturated liner chain cetyl Alcohol that can enhance the stability and texture of creams and lotions.

 

In doing so, they present a smooth, cleans appearance to these formulations and improve their feel on the skin.

 

It is mild, non – toxic and non- irritating waxy material with a typical sweet odor.

 

It is light resistant and stable in the presence o acids or alkali as well as stable to oxidation.

 

Non – gelling thickener and viscosity enhancer ( also in water free products like lipsticks)

 

Has mild emollient and moisturizing Properties

Can boost foam when to gather with Surfactants.
